It’s a labor of love where I share my IBM technology and consumer advocacy perspective and explain the significance of new innovations for independent living and aging-in-place. I also discuss health reform issues and the future of healthcare from a tech perspective.

New digital health technologies are allowing medical functions to move down-market from physician to nurse and eventually patients themselves. But as these enabling technologies and care options evolve, how will individuals and caregivers learn about what’s available? That’s what mHealthTalk.com is about – a way for caregivers to plug into Modern Healthcare options to form a community of people sharing experiences with the new technologies and services.

As our aging population booms, we must create personal, networked, home-based care options that avoid the need for institutional care as long as possible. It’s estimated that doing this can save $1 trillion per year.
